Why are you denying my withdrawal?

A withdrawal can be declined, returned or held for several reasons.

Back-to-source requirements

ThinkMarkets normally returns deposited funds to the original verified funding source.

If several methods were used, the applicable refund priority must be completed first.

Credit-card refunds take priority where applicable.

Third-party withdrawal details

ThinkMarkets does not allow funds to be withdrawn to a bank account, card, wallet or payment account belonging to another person.

Original payment method is unavailable

If the original funding method cannot receive the refund, the request may require manual review before an alternative method can be approved.

Insufficient available funds

Open positions and margin requirements can reduce the amount available to withdraw.

Verification requirements

ThinkMarkets may require additional:

  • identity verification;
  • bank or card verification;
  • wallet verification;
  • proof of address; or
  • source-of-funds information.

Incorrect withdrawal details

Incorrect or incomplete bank, card or wallet information can prevent the payment from being processed.

Compliance or risk review

Some withdrawals may be held while an account or transaction is reviewed under payment, AML, risk or compliance procedures.

If ThinkPortal shows something you can correct yourself, complete that requirement and try again.

If the reason depends on an account-specific review, Client Support or the relevant review team will need to check your account.
