What are the differences between ThinkTrader and MT4/MT5?

ThinkTrader, MT4 and MT5 are separate trading platforms and each requires a compatible trading account.

ThinkTrader

  • Available on web and mobile.
  • Requires a dedicated ThinkTrader account.
  • Eligible ThinkTrader accounts can connect to TradingView.
  • Provides broad multi-asset product access, subject to jurisdiction.
  • ThinkTrader account credentials cannot be used to log in to MT4 or MT5.

MetaTrader 4 (MT4)

  • Third-party MetaTrader platform.
  • Supports Expert Advisors (EAs), custom indicators and scripts.
  • Used with an eligible MT4 Standard or ThinkZero account.
  • An MT4 account cannot be used on MT5, ThinkTrader or directly on TradingView.

MetaTrader 5 (MT5)

  • Used with an eligible MT5 account.
