Minimum & maximum trade size

Minimum and maximum trade sizes are specific to each instrument.

What is the minimum trade size?

For many ThinkMarkets CFD products, the minimum trade size is 0.01 lots.

However, 0.01 lots is not a universal minimum.

For example, current synthetic indices use:

  • minimum trade size: 0.1 lots;
  • maximum trade size: 100 lots; and
  • contract size: 1.

Other instruments can have different limits.

Does 0.01 lot mean the same exposure for every market?

No.

The financial exposure represented by a lot depends on the instrument's contract size.

For example, 0.01 lots of EURUSD is not equivalent to 0.01 lots of gold, Bitcoin or a share CFD.

Check the contract specifications shown for the specific instrument before placing your trade.
